About Us

Since 1964, Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has served the community with the highest quality nursing and rehabilitation services.  Our 169-bed center provides varied levels of care depending on the individual's medical and social needs.  We offer skilled, intermediate and respite care.

Our Red Hat SocietyA Warm Friendly Atmosphere

At Brandywine, we believe that each resident deserves the very best care we can give.  This includes providing an atmosphere that caters to the emotional and physical character of our residents.  Residents and families find a sense of serenity and security in our sunny courtyards and beautifully landscaped wooded grounds.

Inside, residents gather in our cozy lounges for a friendly game of cards or to watch television.  Others prefer to spend time reading or socializing with other residents in the library.  The library is an ideal area for receiving guests, large enough to ensure a private corner, cozy enough to be home-like.

Fellowship Through Activities

The wide variety of activities offered at Brandywine gives our center an added dimension.  We take great pride in the enormous activity involvement of our residents.  Affiliations with numerous volunteers, community groups, and religious organizations gives depth to our programming which includes games, crafts, ceramics, exercise, dances and holiday celebrations.  There are also movies, concerts, discussion groups, structured intergenerational activities, recreational outings, and cookouts.

Accomodations of the highest quality are what you will find at Brandywine.  Our residents may choose a private or semi-private room with bathroom.  We encourage residents to decorate their rooms to be as much like home as possible.

The emphasis at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is on Quality of Life in a homelike environment, complete with personalized resident rooms, fine dining area, and an enclosed courtyard with a flower and vegetable garden.  The staff members' goal is to provide a warm, friendly, and caring atmosphere in which we meet the medical and personal needs of each resident.

Located on five acres of wooded parkland in Southwest Wilmington, we are easily accessible to all major highways.  We are centrally located, accessible within minutes from Hockessin, Pike Creek, New Castle, Newark, and Wilmington.  We are just around the corner from Route 41 and Kirkwood Highway (up the hill from the historical Greenbank Mill), but not visible from Kirkwood.  The surrounding area is lovely, historical, wooded and peaceful.
